The Heights Press hails from the Merriman Heights neighborhood of Akron, Ohio. It’s not uncommon to see a blimp flying overhead, which never gets old, and always makes the dog bark. The Heights Press offers a selection of typographic and Akron-inspired goods, as well as other merchandise we feel like putting out into the world.

Letterpressed items are printed one at a time by hand on either an antique Sigwalt press or a small proofing press using carved blocks and vintage wood and metal type, some dating back to the 19th century. Variability in print impressions and imperfections are part of the process. In fact, they’re unavoidable! But that also means each print is a unique piece of artwork.

We also design fonts under the brand Midwest Type, and enjoy using our own fonts whenever possible to design products for The Heights Press.
