Butlerian Jihad Now Letterpress Poster

If you’re drawn to this poster you probably don’t need the Butlerian Jihad explained to you. But if it doesn’t ring a bell, it’s a reference to the historical event in Frank Herbert’s Dune books in which the advance of machine intelligence has propelled its creators into a new technocratic class, who leverage the technology to obtain control over the common people. Sound familiar? This led to a rebellion against the “thinking machines,” their destruction, and a ban on creating similar technology in the future. Although they perhaps went a bit far, outlawing even the simplest computers including calculators. But hey, if the message resonates, we hear you, sahib.
